A steep climb up to Long Knoll ridge with Great views. 2 Miles total.
Long Knoll is a high ridge just south of Maiden Bradely with terrific views of the surrounding country side. The walk to the cache will take you up a steep climb to begin with (80M elevation gain) and then along public foot paths on the ridge to the cache. The total walk is 2 miles. This is one of the highest points around and has great views (on a good day) towards Alfred’s Tower(GCEA92), The White Sheet downs, Kingston Deveril Glider club and more. It’s no surprise that you will find a Trig Point up here as well. Park at N 51 08.349 W 002 17.061 just off the B3092 about a half mile south of Maiden Bradley. Parking can be muddy – walk is not too bad. Dogs may need to be on lead as there are sheep. Please hide/cover the cache well as it often gets Muggled by the sheep!!! While here try "Building the Dream - Witham Friary" by AdamsHome (GCNZTZ)
