Outside the gym that served as the home court for the team in the movie "Hoosiers."
This is probably the most famous pop-culture destination in rural Indiana. All of the home court scenes for the film "Hoosiers" were shot here. The movie is a David vs. Goliath story based on the 1950s upset victory of the Milan, Indiana high school team in the Indiana State Tournament. The fictional team was the Hickory Huskers. Today the gym is more than just a local basketball venue. It is also a town gathering place that sometimes even serves as a place of worship. (That alone is not surprising in Indiana.) If you visit during daylight hours, the front doors are often unlocked for you to wander around the gym and see some of the memorabilia from the film. The micro cache you seek is a 1 1/2 by 3 inch container that blends in well with the background. There is room only for a log, so bring your own pen or pencil, and please snap the lid back on tightly to keep the elements out.
