Geocache Description:

Ribby Hall – The second part of five in the series “Hall’s well that ends well”

Ribby Hall was built in 1873 set in 100 acres of grounds and owned by the Hornby family of Kirkham. In 1972 it was bought by the Royal Lancashire Agricultural society where the annual Royal Show was held for three years before moving to Blackburn. The following several years saw a chequered history of failed attempts to develop the site, however the latest owners seem to have achieved success and the area is now thriving.

There is a layby at N53 46.834 W002 53.878 where you can leave the car. There is a shop, takeaway and café inside the Ribby Hall grounds open to the public.

We have now moved this cache following the huge growth of nettles and weeds since we first placed it. The tree cover in the summer may make the GPS reading dance round a bit but if you stand back a bit and take a reading, you won't be far out.

Be sure to write down the value of the letter from the inside of the lid of the cache container to lead you to the final part.
