Cache is near the Mad River Railroad Museum located on Southwest Street, south of US Route 20. http://www.madrivermuseum.org I have received permission from the Board of Trustees to place our first geocache here.
I chose this particular site for our first geocache for several reasons. I've had a special interest in trains all my life. My dad was employed with the former Nickel Plate Railroad and Norfolk and Western Railroad for 41 years, retiring in May 1983 as a Chief Clerk. My brother has been with the Railroad 35 years (since 1972) presently as a Yard Master. Even I was employed as a clerk in my twenties for nearly eight years.
As for the Mad River and NKP Railroad Society/Museum I have been an active volunteer member for 34 years-since 1973 and most of the years as a Board Member/Officer; as a Golden Life Member since 1984.
The cache contains a log sheet, pencil and several small trinkets.
