This is the third bridge to cross the Snoqualmie River in this area. The first was located about a quarter mile downstream very near the physical Cache of Palindromes. That bridge stood 90 feet above low water, hence the name of High Bridge. I don't have the date of construction but everything but the span was rebuilt in 1906. In 1915 a new bridge was built at this location and the original bridge was removed (see photo). That bridge was replaced in 1996 by this concrete span.
