Cache area is an example of an unique Biome. The area was once a paved Drive-in Movie Theater. It is now an example of Mother Nature retaking a once cleared area.
Sara-Placid Drive-in operated from 1949 untill it closed in 1973. The area was sold to NY State in July, 1974. After being used as a Bus parking area for the 1980 Olympics, the area was stripped and allowed to revert to a forested area. It now contains a mixed Ecosystem. A great variety of Animals, Plants and Trees make this area home.
The Cache is an 81MM Mortar Shell Case with the usuall trade items.
