A two hour hike for two caches, great views and wildflowers (in season, ending soon)
We decided that this mountain deserved another cache. Our first hide here doesn’t get you to the top, which offers an entirely different view, including our home. This cache is still short of the actual summit but close enough to tempt you to continue. There are no steep drop offs or difficult sections so kids shouldn’t have any trouble.
Once at the cache site (perhaps 45 minutes) you will have a view of the valley to the east and north. The large ammo box shouldn’t be difficult to locate. See our “Patterson Mountain” cache for parking suggestions and be sure to carry water.
In winter this cache will be accessible via a snowshoe trail but the difficulty for both the hide and the terrain will be up in the 4+ range.
Enjoy the hike and views.
Barnabirdy(s)
October 2007:
"We must add a sad footnote to this cache page: Our pet cockatiel, Diminuendo, the inspiration for our daughters caching moniker (Dimibirdy), has passed away at the age of 28. It was our daughter's wish that he be laid to rest on a high hill overlooking our valley and in a place she could look up towards him.
We ask that you please do not disturb the small pile of stones that you may find beneath a tree. The cache is not in that location.
Thank you"
