Geocache Description:

This is another easy to grab cache on the Backbone Trail. It is on that section of the Backbone Trail where the Old Boney and Chamberlain trails meet.

The local long distance, trail runners frequently train on these trails. The runners also frequently pause at this junction before continuing the long uphill trail to Chamberlain Rock, and Sandstone Peak beyond. There are several ways to reach this spot and there is good trail all the way – no bushwhacking required. The easiest route is to start at the Danielson Ranch Group Campground and proceed up the Blue canyon trail. The name of this cache has two meaning, which will be immediately obvious when you arrive here. Please leave the “cache” in as good or better condition than you found it. As always, be very careful poking around in the rocks and bushes and always look carefully before reaching into these areas.

When I first placed this cache, the trail runners were "caching" water in the bushes near this cache. Hence, the name "Water Cache". The runners no longer cache water here so the name has lost it's significance.
