Barbie & Ken's Trädgårdsmästar Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ubuntu7: It's not clear how many cache boxes there are, and I've asked for feedback and not received. I no longer travel to Sweden and have not heard from Lena in a long time, so it's time to end this one. Thanks to all who have found it over the years!

Geocache Description:

small cache in the village of "Barbie"

2013 Update: I don't know how the Coop ice cream container returned -- it was muggled in 2006! You should be looking for a square Snaplock container -- clear with orange ring -- that has the logbook. If you wind up finding both containers, please put them together in the same location and let us know in the log.

2012 Update: Cleaned up cache -- low on interesting stuff. Lena now has a dog, who might notice you but is harmless -- be stealth! Please don't remove the pens or crayons for writing. And please log på Engelska, tack!

2009 Update: Added some international coins since cache contents got a bit low.

2008 Update: New waterproof cache box, hidden in same location.

2007 Update: They put the mirrors back, yay! So I can put the cache back in its original location. Original information from 2005 below applies. New hint and coordinates will be posted shortly.

2006 Update: The cache is back! Unfortunately, it had to be placed somewhere a little more private, so the townspeople will stop asking Lena what that ice cream box was doing behind a tree in her hedge :) The mirror has been destroyed, so I can't use the cool hint from before :(

New set of items: small chicken from Easter, hair clip from Tomelilla, SanDisk keychain, bracelet from South Africa, and a prettier logbook.

Original Text from 2005: Hej! I am an Amerikanska with a friend who has a cottage in Skåne. When we were driving here, I thought she said the village name was Barbie, thus the name of the cache. Her house used to be owned by a gardener, thus the name of the nearby street. And shouldn't Barbie and Ken have their own gardener?!

The coordinates will not take you directly to the cache, but within the tolerance of your GPS (so it's very close). Be like Barbie and make sure you look good, to find this one!

My friend knows little about geocaching, so if you see a car in the driveway, do say hej, so she knows that cachers are normal people too! If she catches you in the act, well...be prepared to hand over a gift, or help her in the trädgården ;)

Contents have been collected from my recent trips in Göteborg and Stockholm:

  • SL transit strip (good for 1-2 more rides)
  • Vetenskapsrådet puzzle
  • Hot pink lanyard/keychain
  • Too many Norwegian kronor on a wire (please take one!)
  • Stress relief toy (big red heart)
  • ...and the Geolocked Out TB
Finally, I ask that you post your log in Engelska -- my Svenska is dålig. Tack så mycket!
