Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a newly constructed trail on the wasatch front above the city of Perry.

This cache is up Perry canyon on a trail that is currently under construction. The cache originally contains survival items such as a rain poncho, candles, GI can openers, fishing lures, ACE bandage, etc. This is a nice trail that a local resident is making up the face of the wasatch front for mountain biking and hiking activity. The trail starts just inside a chain link fence and near a holding pond. There are Warning and No Trespassing signs in the area. These signs are to prevent any ATV activity in the area. I have talked with the land owner and hiking and mountain biking is allowed on the designated trail. The trail starts up on the north side of the creek just inside the gate. Park at N41 27.335, W112 01.937 and start hiking due east on the trail. The trail follows the creek on the north side and then crosses over to the south side after about 1/4 mile. The trail then crosses the road at N41 27.396, W112.01.544 and continues up the canyon on the south side of the creek. The trail is well defined and easy to follow. The cache is located approximately 3.5 miles from the gate. If you continue on past the cache you will come to the end of the trail within an additional 1.5 miles. You will find picks and buckets and saws at the end of the trail. If you have a few minutes, lend a hand in constructing the trail. The direction of the trail should be easy to see, and you may even be working along side of "Stan, the awesome trail builder". He is intending to extend the trail up the face and tie into the Willard basin area. This trail will then start at the bottom of Perry canyon and traverse the face of the Wasatch front up to the beautiful Willard basin area. If you get to the end of the trail look in Stan's bucket and sign and date his log book. Enjoy the sport !!
