The Lost Theatre Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

CacheNaFlash: Went by this cache today and could not find the first stage. Water has been up to it recently so that may have been it's demise. Arriving at stage two, I heard the BEES again....they never left from the last time I was here. I was contemplating checking this stage and then it happened.....a BEE flew in my ear.[:o] Not on my ear, but IN it. I tried not to panic for fear of being stung, but just shaking my head back and forth was not gonna do the trick, so I reached in with a finger and smashed the lil' devil...in my ear[b)]. I was shaking off my wound and grabbed my sunglasses and hat which fell even closer to the hive and got stung again on the side of the head[b)][b)]. This cache has been a fun one, but I think it's time to pass the torch to someone braver than I. Thanks to all the seekers of this cache and your logs.

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in Corp of Engineers Clear Creek Park in Crawford County. It is hidden with permission from the Ozark Lake Project Office Park Manager, Greg Moll with some great ideas and input from Park Ranger Rick Bradford.

*********UPDATE 5/27/2007*************** While replacing stage 2 of this cache today we noticed something small but painful surrounding this stage.........BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZ. A bunch of them, CacheNaFlash had to be very careful and move SLOWWWWW while here. You should too. This multi-cache is named after a small outdoor ampitheater in this park. Although time has taken it's toll and it is no longer usable, it is still a gem to visit. You can imagine how great it must have been to hold an event here in this serene setting. The first thing that comes to our mind is of a group of kids on a campout doing skits, slideshows, or watching a scary movie together! A wedding here would be cool too. It almost sounds silly to ask of a Geocacher, but please be careful to not damage anything here, as the benches look fragile. Asphalt parking for both stages is nearby and is a short walk to both stages. While visiting with Mr. Bradford about geocaching, he thought of some scenic areas in Corps of Engineers parks that most visitors don't see. They might make good hiding spots in those places. Wouldn't it be great if some Park Rangers hid caches! As a special request of our fellow cachers, Mr. Bradford suggested gathering volunteers for Federal Lands Day to do some cleanup in the area Parks and they would supply lunch vittles! I told him that sounds like what we like to call Cache In - Trash Out. Geocaching and an event like CITO would help bring visitors and revenue to these great parks. We're sure that cachers agree that we don't want to see any more of our Parks closed due to underfunding or underuse...so come late August, we will be contacting geocachers for their help for the Federal Lands Day/Cito Event which will take place the first or second Saturday in September. We will find out for sure what day, or if you know, please contact us through Groundspeak. Thanks for your support and thanks for hunting for this cache.
