The Yuko-En on the Elkhorn is the official Kentucky-Japan Friendship Garden located in Georgetown, Kentucky. The paths offer visitors a stroll through Kentucky’s landscape. It contains native plants blended with Japanese garden principles. The 5 acre garden also hosts environmental, historical and cultural programs and events. It was created through private and corporate gifts and many volunteers from Kentucky and Georgetown’s sister city – Tahara, Japan. I met one of the volunteers (actually the sculptor from clue F) the day I hid the cache. Please sign in and enjoy the gentle hills and winding paths.
This trek starts out as a tour of the Japanese garden. Your goal is to walk the along the garden paths picking up clues for the final cache. It is a short easy walk. The trailhead for the final cache is within walking distance and is located outside of the garden. The final cache is a plastic ammo box filled with oriental items.
This is a friendship garden, so please remember to take only pictures and leave only footsteps.
