I've always wanted to visit this island but never had a chance. Then when I started caching I knew it would be a great place for a cache and I HAD to find a way.
The "Island" does have a bit of history of it's own.
George Whitcomb's family homesteaded on this butte in 1889, in 1899 a diphtheria epidemic took the lives of three of their four children. Whitcomb buried them nearby where, according to one report, was already buried a man who had died in an accident.
When I placed the cache I looked and could find no sign of a cemetery. If you happen to find something I missed I would love to see pictures.
Despite the fact that the cache is on an island this area IS a high muggle risk.
Please re-hide as well as or better then you found it.
