Gampo abbey is in Pleasant Bay,Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It is a buddhist monastery.Cache is not hard to find and is not actually at the abbey for obvious reasons.
Gampo abbey is a monastery of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.Founded by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1984,it is an affiliate of the Vajrahatu Buddist Church of Canada and Shambhala International. See the following web site for more info. www.gampoabbey.org For obvious reasons you cannot just show up and knock on the door but there are tours and weekend retreats from time to time. I have done alot of work there and have found them to be a very nice group of people. However you must understand that some of the residents are there on a vow of silence and can not speak to you. The cache is located before the abbey then drive by the abbey for a view of the monument you must see this monument pictures dont do it justice but one will be downloaded for you to see.Since it is far to go there are several geocaching prizes for the first few to find it.The trip will be worth it when you see all this for your self. Turn on to red river road at pleasant bay,and go until it turns to dirt. Then continue on the dirt and follow your gps to the cache and beyond to the abbey and farther to the monument
