Geocache Description:

This cache has been redone due to muggles and other factors. Be sure to read everything carefully.

This is a 6 stage multi cache, which takes you to some of the parks and recreation areas of Portage. Stages 1-3 are virtuals and 4 and 5 are pill bottles. Several of the stages require some figuring. Good luck.

The coordinates listed will take you to a bird house located in Schrier Park. From there calculate the distance to the start of the paved hiking trail. (N42 10.012 W085 35.899) If the distance is greater than 150 feet, use the coordinates for pier 1. If the distance is less than 150 feet use the coordinates for pier 2. (Pier 1 N42 10.890 W085 33.698) (Pier 2 N42 10.854 W085 33.698) These piers are located in Lakeview Park. Count the number of vertical wood posts on the correct pier. Add 22 to the number of posts which gives you value for xx. Then double the number of posts and add 10 to the result. This gives the value for yy. The coordinates for stage 3 are N 42 11.0xx W 085 35.5yy. Stage 3 is a sign with info about Bishop's Bog Trail. To find the coords for stage 4, first add the number of words in the two sentences directly under the title. Then double this number and add 9. This gives you the aa coords. Then add the values of the six digits. This gives you the value of bb. The coordinates for stage 4 are N 42 13.8aa W 085 38.6bb. Stage 4 is a pill bottle micro located in Westfield Park, which contains two sets of coordinates. One is a dummy set; the other set leads to the next stage. Use A=1, B=2, C=3, etc, to add up the values for the words “King Tut.” From this value, subtract 100. The answer is the clue for which set of coordinates you should use. The correct coords will take you to stage 5, a pill bottle located in Oakland Drive Park. Inside that pill bottle you will find the coords for the final cache, located in the woods along Shaver Road. Permission for parking has been given by the gas station across the street. (N42 10.415 W085 36.781) Since the first 5 stages are Portage Parks be on the lookout for muggles.

Reminder: Portage parks are open from 8AM to sunset. No night caching is allowed.
