Like a few others, this cache began life as one of a series of "Gold Fever" caches hidden by Team Bluedog for the 2005 June long weekend Gold Rush in Dubbo. This cache was renamed after the Gold Rush Weekend to "Ark on Newell", and hence joined another series of caches on the Newell and Sturt Highways in NSW. These caches are designed for travellers and mostly for children. They are all located near the highway and are usually near facilities.
For other caches in the series check "Team Bluedog" for caches in Dubbo and further north or "Emmnmnl" for caches south of Dubbo.
Cache is an old ice cream tin and does contain swaps. Only swap an animal for an animal.
There is a pencil in the cache, but bring your own pen or pencil for the log.
