WaterLife Discovery Center Traditional Cache
Loblollylove: Due to several DNFs, it's time to archive this popular cache. It was established in the early days of the Water Life Discovery Center to encourage people to visit this historical and educational site. Idaho Department of Fish and Game welcomed geocaches at the time and the manager approved its location in order to draw visitors across the road to the interpretative trail. It served its purpose and provided an easy first find for many newby geocachers.

in our disclaimer.
The WaterLife Discovery Center offers an opportunity to learn about fish, wildlife, forests and wetlands.
Still a work in progress, the WaterLife Discovery Center transforms the Sandpoint Fish Hatchery (est. 1904) into a self-guided outdoor educational center for all ages. When completed, it will offer nature trails, wildlife viewing platforms, an outdoor classroom, a picnic area and fish viewing opportunities along both a stream and a pond. Check with Idaho Department of Fish & Game to help develop this interesting project.
Looking for the cache will introduce you to the Wetland Forest Trail. Geocachers can name yet another important benefit of old stumps and logs. (Hiding caches!)
At the south end of the Long Bridge, turn west on Lakeshore Drive. After 1.5 miles you'll see why the old-timers still call it Fish Hatchery Road.
