Geocache Description:

Venor Infernus Sempervirons

Come join the fun and experience caching among the Redwoods (i.e. caching with no reception!). If you've already done all of the caches here (Roaring Camp) and in Henry Cowell next door, then just come on over for the fun, food and stories. Hula Bum and I have reserved a barbeque area and there's lots of open grass and caching nearby - so come one, come all.

Schedule:

  • 11:00 Show up and 'talk story', get directions for caches nearby, etc.
  • 12:00 Charcoal will be lit
  • 1:30 Prizes will be handed out (must be present to win)

We'll also distribute the Santa Cruz County coins for those who ordered them (pic below) - bring your trades!
SC Coin (Sorry, ordering is closed)

We'll be in picnic area A1 - PDF file available here

What about food you ask? Semi-pot luck. Bring your own main dish along with a side dish that will serve a couple of people. This can be a bag of chips, cookies, fruit salad, desert, etc. Just post what you are bringing so everybody doesn't bring the same thing. I've seen some pretty cool deserts/sides at other events - BRING 'EM!
This seems to the easiest way to ensure that everybody gets what they want to barbeque/eat and covers things in case somebody can't come (Hey! Who was supposed to bring the hamburgers?!!??!).
We'll provide the charcoal, utensils, condiments, plates, napkins, cups, and drinks.

NOTE: Roaring Camp does require a $6.00 parking fee as does Henry Cowell next door. If you park in the Henry Cowell parking lot (off Highway 9) you can take a short stroll to the picnic ground.

Redwoods

We've fronted the funds needed to reserve this spot.
A donation jar (ok, ammo box) will be made available on-site; a $3.00 to $5.00 donation from each attendee will help offset these costs and would be appreciated, but not required or tracked.

In the event that we collect more $ than we put out for this, the funds will be used for either a nice cache or nice FTF prize in a future cache.
