Park in the mountain-access area of Theresa Road (off Fiskal off Camps Bay Drive) and walk up to the Pipe Track. Continue in a southerly direction towards Corridor Ravine. At S33°58'795" E18°22'727" look for a less-used path branching off the main path as it is about to ascend Corridor Ravine. Wherever the path is not very clear, look for small cairns. Although this is not a difficult route, it is not a route to do in bad weather or with people who have a fear of heights. If you only go as far as the cache and then turn back it will take you 2 to 2½ hours walking. It is not possible to get a reading at the actual cache site, so at S33°58'965" E18°22'619" turn SSE towards the cliff face. The cache is a small tupperware containing the logbook and a set of Yahtzee dice.
We recommend you continue on if you have the time as the way up Oudekraal Ravine provides stunning views with a spectacular cliff face framing one side. If you do continue, the path is faint so look for the cairns. Don't stick close to the rock band. Shortly after the cache site it dips down a little eroded bank before climbing back up. If you keep to the path it is actually one of the easiest ways up to the top of Table Mountain and brings you out at the foot of Grootkop. You could then descend via Corridor or Woody Ravines.
Why the name April Fool? This is the rather odd common name of the Haemanthus lilly that grows here in profusion in late March and got us thinking about setting a cache here to attract you to share this spot.
