Geocache Description:

As you start your journey from N43° 48.016, W79° 59.225, you soon realize that your quest to find the Hobbit's hidden treasure becomes more and more treacherous as you continue. Listen to the Hobbit’s warning, as only the brave, or perhaps the foolish, will attempt such a journey.

I have hidden my treasure in my home.
A home which only my friends and I can enter.
I have given you a false sense of confidence,
As the journey starts off with ease.
I have placed some stairs in your way.
Hold on tight. One wrong step,
And you will be lying on the floor below.

If you choose to continue along the trail,
You will not find my home.
This I tell you. Follow the wall.
Up and down you will go.
Along the walls of towering stone.
Past two mystical springs glistening from the ground,
Which form rivers that only go down.

Watch your step, every moment of the way,
For the vultures are hungry and are wanting you.
Go further and further,
Until your feet tell you no.
Bring your agile bodies, but leave the weak at home,
For this journey is not for young or old.
But adventure I promise, you will have.

When you find my home,
Don’t be misled, as the next challenge awaits.
The treasure is inside, and you are not.
Now don’t you wish you brought that child?
Or perhaps a friendly elf or gnome.
Try to enter if you dare,
But if you get stuck, you will be belong to me, my precious.

Many have tried and failed. None have succeeded. How will you fare? This journey is not for everyone. Even if you get to your destination, finding and retrieving the treasure will be a challenge too. Be sure to read any logs, to find out more.

The Hobbit's treasure initially contained a variety of about 40 Canadian postage stamps from the 1960s and 1970s.
