Down in the Meadows Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

lindgrenM: We've looked in the area for good places to hide a new cache several times now, but each time we do so we come out empty handed. Given that we don't know the extent of the development that is going to take place in the area, it's also a bit of a risk to replace the cache because it may get lost again to construction. Unfortunately, we've decided that the best measure for us to take right now is to archive the cache. Perhaps some time down the road, when we have more information about what's going on in the area, we (or someone else) will be able to create a similar cache. This was one of our favorite caches and we're sad to see it go, and I know a lot of other cachers liked this hide as well, but since we can't find a spot where we're sure it'll be able to stay for some time, it seems somewhat pointless to replace it. Sorry to all who are disappointed by this outcome.

Geocache Description:

Tidalflame's "Down in the Meadows" Cache
(or "Meadows Cache" for short)

This cache will take you to a stream right near a nice little meadow just behind a residential area. It's quite a nice area; I think most cachers will enjoy the hike. If you're into biking, there's a little improvised BMX course set up at the other end of the meadow. The two easiest ways to get to this cache are to start at the dirt road that comes off of Cowart or head through the empty lot along Simon Fraser opposite College Heights Secondary.

I should note that I've heard people sometimes come down to this area to drink and party, but it is a public area and should not generally be a problem. I've never actually seen anything going on down there. If you're concerned about that, just try to avoid going on a Friday night - other than that, you'll be fine.

The cache is in a clear Lock 'n Lock, roughly 19 x 12 x 6.5cm, so keep that in mind for trading. This cache is stuffed full of neat trinkets - it's got some nice keychains, a couple packs of cards, a slinky, a couple pins, a 5 kronor coin (Swedish currency - 5 kronor is about 86 cents Canadian) and more. Oh, and a log book and writing tools, of course.

There are, at times, little toads near the cache, so be careful not to step on any.

It shouldn't be too hard to find. Good luck and have fun!
