Geocache Description:

V blízkosti archeologického skanzenu a Agry Ogary.

The archeological open-air museum was established in 1981. A sequence of settlements was discoverd in 700 arce area close to the edge of the River Eger bank. These settlements date back from the late stone age about 5000 B.C. To the Slavic age of the 9th century. So much has been attested by the finds of ground plans of both large and small houses.

Two slavic houses were built, from the 6th and the 9th century, with corn-deposit pits and a potter's furnance from 9th century, Further, a Germanic house from 6th century was built and a big house from the late stone age from about 4000 B.C.

The Brezno museum is unique in its efforts to achieve the look of a particular house, not a general indealized image. Such attitude difers from most European open-air museums and all of them in the Czech Republic.
