Geocache Description:

Located at a picnic spot on the Millenium Track beside the Taieri River.

Each time I have been here the bird song has been amazing. They are mainly bellbirds but there are also tuis, faintails and waxeyes. There were others but I couldn't clearly identify them because of the noise the bellbirds were making.

This area can be accessed from either end of the track (ie from the Henley end or Taieri Mouth). The Henley end is the shortest to the cache. You could also access the area by boat.

The GPS coverage on parts of the track are patchy but should be good enough to get you to the picnic area. The cache is approximately 30 metres west from the picnic table (back up the track). Look for the most significant tree where the track makes a right angle turn.

The cache is a camo painted 1 litre snaplock container containing various swap items. It is at ground level and not visible from any distance.
