Dolni Rocov vznikl v 1. polovine 14.stoleti kolem tvrze Albrechta z Kolovrat. Ten zde v roce 1373 zalozil klaster augustinianu. Za husitskych valek byl klaster opusten, v 16. stoleti znovu obnoven, rozkvet zazival v 17. a 18. stoleti. V roce 1745 byly klasterni budovy i kostel tezce poniceny prutrzi mracen a nasledne prosly velkou prestavbou, kterou navrhl a ridil slavny barokni architekt Kilian Ignac Dietzenhofer. Vznikla tak nejcennejsi barokni pamatka v sirokem okoli.
The Augustinian monastery in Dolni Rocov was founded in 1373. It was abandoned during the Hussite Wars in the 15th century, but it flourished again in the 17th and 18th century. In 1745, the buildings were seriously damaged by a storm and had to be reconstructed. Kilian Ignac Dietzenhofer, a famous baroque architect, planned the reconstruction, and thus created probably the most valuable baroque monument of the region.
