Geocache Description:

NO SMOKING while looking for this one.
This is my first hide. Should be real easy for you veteran Cachers. Cache is a small container, bigger than a film canister. When placed, it contained a log, a small pencil, some little hat pins and a Lance Armstrong Cancer Foundation “LiveStrong” bracelet.
There's no need to go on private property to find this one.

Just a little history of the surrounding area. The hills you see to the N/W use to be used by the Army in World War II as an observation site to watch for Japenese ships and aircraft coming up the deep water channel. The men that manned this post and others in the nearby area were housed in the old army barracks located on the property further down the road.
It must have been good duty compared to the beaches of Normandy or Iwo Jima.
