Geocache Description:

A local cemetery with some history

Welcome to the Pioneer Cemetery founded in 1800. It located on the salisbury Back Road.

This is the final resting spot of Joseph Crandall (a distant relative of mine.) He founded the First United Baptist Church of Salisbury.

His monument is the tall obilisk type and reads:

Joseph Crandall
Died Febr. 20, 1858 in the 88 year of his age
With Heavenly weapons I have fought
The battles of the Lord
Finished my course and kept the Faith
And wait the sure reward

Container is an camouflaged octaganal tube with small trade items, a geocoin and loggsheet and pencils
