Geocache Description:

Where the road forks - both roads are a part of history of the area and go to Old? Copper mines.

I actually came in on a road from Rt 169 - but while it was a great Jeep trip - I do not recommend it as the way you come to find the cache. This is an area that has a lot of history - mining and sheep raising.
The road into the area (from Rt 69) is dirt but can be used by any vehicle. The road after the cache to the right is the shortest and takes you toward Copper Mountain - and mainly the old Stoddard mine.
The road to the left takes you down to the Aqua Fria river and then to the Binghampton and Copper Queen mine turnoffs, and if you continue you will arrive at Stoddard - a ghost town - with two buildings? left - one the school or a frieght station, and the other built into the hillside - a meat storage building - it was cool today even.
Stoddard was the home to the miners from all three mines - 100 in the mines hey day.
