Puzzling on the Panhandle
THERE IS NO CACHE AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!
This puzzle cache is near the
Walker's Mill Station section of the Panhandle
Trail. http://www.panhandletrail.org
Directions to the trailhead: From Route 50 in
Collier, near the Exxon, BP, and Ghelarducci's Nursery, take
Collier St./Ave. to Walker's Mill Road. Turn right onto
Walker's Mill Road, and follow this road to the parking area at the
bottom of the hill. Parking coordinates: N40.23.776 W
080.07.888. Note: There are two parking lots, if the
one on the left is full, use the one on the
right.
Puzzling on the Panhandle has received a make-over. This
is now a one stage cache that should be easy to find once you solve
the puzzle. You are looking for a well stocked 50 cal. ammo
can. TRADE FAIRLY!
The
good news is you get to solve the puzzle from the comfort of your
home. The bad news is, there are no longer any clues to help
you solve the puzzle. If you would like verification that
your solution is correct, please email us.
To
solve the puzzle, you must use the digits 1-9 one time in every
row, column, and 3x3 grid. Once that is done, use the numbers
in the following equations:
N
40.AB.CDE
W
080.0F.GHI

DO NOT GIVE
ANYTHING AWAY IN YOUR LOG! LOGS THAT COMPROMISE THE LOCATION
OR PUZZLE WILL BE DELETED IMMEDIATELY!
A few notes:
* On Walker's Mill Road, you will pass the Collier
Sportsman's Association. This area is nowhere near the trail
or cache. Please be assured that the gunshots you hear in the
distance ARE in fact, in the distance, and are not a risk to you
while searching for this cache.
* There is a NORAD Joint Manual Direction Center, a
high-security military facility in the vincinity. Please be
aware that your need not, not should not, enter this area! If
you would happen to solve the puzzle and find coordinates in this
area, you've made a mistake! DO NOT ENTER THIS
AREA!
* When seeking this (and every other) cache, please
be mindful of your surroundings. If something looks like it
shouldn't be trampled, don't trample it. If something looks
man-made, don't destroy it. If something looks like it probably
shouldn't be damaged or torn apart in your search, don't damage it
or tear it apart. In short, use common
sense.
* Shortly after you begin your journey, you will see a sign
for a cave to your right. Again, you need not, nor should
not, enter this area! This cave is open to the public, but
you must have permission. Entering without permission is
trespassing, and video cameras are in
place!
* Be sure to check out the
windmill and the ponds near your starting point. In placing
the cache we saw a large frog in the pond opposite the windmill,
and a turtle in the other on. There are also small fish in
the pond with the frog!
