THREE ISLAND CROSSING INTERPRETIVE OVERLOOK
As the pioneers approached the mighty Snake River Canyon from the south, this is what they saw. They had to decide whether to cross here, or endure the longer, drier, more treacherous trail along the south bank.
If you haven't already, be sure to visit the Three Island State Park on the north side of the river. There you will find the Oregon Trail History and Education Center, a museum and interpretive center built in 2000.
From Glenn's Ferry, take Old Highway 30 west to Solosbal Road and head south. You will leave pavement, but you will not have to go cross-country.
The cache is in a container that was fun to make. It is just out-of-place enough to be an easy find though.
