Ard Neackie View Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Start by following a track, hop across the stream and from there it is heather and gets quite steep. There is loads of parking nearby.
You will clearly see ruins where a settlement used to be in the grassy valley behind the hill. Ard-Neackie isthmus (can you say that?) houses old Lime Kilns. Although this area is mainly granite, Whitten Head is limestone. Original contents: Car, Nail Varnish, Balloons, Computer Game, Calculator, Dog Toy, Tongue Badge, Blue Ribbon. EDIT A few folk have used the gut busting "direct approach" An approach from the North is much more gentle and allows you to see the settlement.
