Cache is located in Rosedale Park. Park on Blackwell Road near Cold Soil Road. You will be able to see an old abandoned house from the small parking area.
The cache is an ammo canister and is located near a pretty, small lake in the park. It is loaded with a variety of toy police items: badges, guns, police cars, and sirens. The path is an easy walk, although the round-trip distance is almost a mile. As you approach the cache, your GPS readings may not be too accurate if there is leaf cover. We could get accuracy only to 36 ft. under the trees. Enjoy the lake setting - it's really peaceful.
HISTORIC NOTE: The abandoned house you pass along the path is the Noah Hunt House. It was likely constructed in four sections beginning in the 1750's by the Hunt family, who were among the earliest settlers in Hopewell Township. The Georgian-style frame farmhouse retains some of the original eighteenth century building fabric and is being considered by Mercer County for historic preservation. It's rumored that the ghost of old Noah hangs out in one of the nearby barns - and you can sometimes hear him rustling about, looking for his lost fishing rod.
