Geocache Description:

This multi-cache starts in Witham Friary where you will see the ITV “Building the Dream” house and then finish with a 1.5 mile walk up through Postlebury woods.

The quiet village of Witham Friary was the location of the reality TV show “Building the Dream” that aired on ITV in 2004.

The show was presented by celebrity designer Linda Barker, but it was the 12 pairs of contestants who were the stars. They traded their normal lives for several months on a building site at Witham Friary where they built and fitted out a luxury, hi-tech barn-style home. They gradually voted off the fellow contestants they felt were not pulling their weight until the final on July 2nd when viewers decided which of the two remaining couples won the house.

Please be considerate to the villagers and park at the given coordinates in the car park on the West end of the village by the playing fields. Walk past the church. How many Bells can you see on the church tower? The answer gives you A. What time is the first service in the village church? Record the answer in the form BC:DE.

Keep walking to N51 10.149 W2 21.975 where you will find the house on the left called “Cedar Barn”. How many red brick pillars are in the wall along the roadside? The answer gives you F.

Now put answers into the formula for the final cache coordinates: N 51 11.BCB W 002 22.(A+4)7(F-1)

NOTE: The final is now moved 15M in the NE direction. UPDATE as of 31 March 2014

You will want to drive to the starting point. Park as close as you can safely to N51 10.558 W2 21.949 where the public foot path goes up a lane to a stile at N 51 10.749 W 002 22.279. Now follow the public footpath up the hill through Postlebury woods to the final cache. It is lovely when the bluebells are out.

I know cachers are a clever bunch and are always looking for a short cut. It is closer to approach from the A359 but we walked both routes when setting the cache and the stiles and signposts are new and well marked from the Witham Friary side so we recommend it in good weather, but its muddy in winter.

If you want to approach from the A359 side park at the end of the path at N51 11.754 W2 23.014 Please stick to the footpaths as you pass the farm. We found this route a bit muckier but its still the best route in the Winter and has great views.

The container is a white Pill Container.

The round trip hike is 1.5 miles with great views. If you are bagging Trigpoints there is one up there and you can log it at: (visit link)
