Geocache Description:

The twin cities of Jefferson and West Jefferson lie in the center of Ashe County. They are classic small towns, with warm, friendly people. This is another in a series of caches designed to introduce others to the warmth and charm of this area.

Ashe Park was developed in 1973 on 65 acres of land. Here you may find yourself enjoying several different types of recreation. Ashe Park hosts four lighted tennis courts, three lighted ball fields, eight horse shoe pits, two playgrounds, three covered shelters, a pond, pee-wee soccer field, sand volleyball court, botchie court, frisbee golf, and basketball court. To all of this we have added its first cache. The park is open in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Opening date: April 1st

Closing Date:October 31st

Park Hours: 8AM - 8PM

NOTE: Off-season access parking coordinates are as follows:

N36* 26.175 and W081* 28.091

You are seeking a well-stocked ammo can. The difficulty level stems primarily from the fact that tree cover may cause some reception problems.
