The hidingplace is not among the oldest culture memories of Røros, but still approx. hundred years old. It’s nearly a drive-in cache and it’s fastened with a magnet. Beware muggles on the road, in the windows, in the train or on the parkingplaces. The cache is summer/winter and day/night available. The cache has been muggled some times, please, dont place trackables here any more.
World Heritage site Røros.
Røros Copper Works mined copper ore at Røros for over 300 years from 1644 to 1977. The old town, also known as “Bergstaden”, has maintained much of its original character, including the street plan dating from 17th century, and timber houses from the 18th and 19th century. The smelting house and its surround area formed a natural center for community. Copper production was combined with farming and it is these two activities which have shaped the town and its culture environment. Røros was included on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1980. This text is picked up from a prospect of the museum.
