Rubiconlwb: This rest area is still closed and no work is being done to convert it into a parking lot so I guess I will need to archive it and make this a regular cache when the weather gets better.

;This cache is located just off Interstate 80 in southern Wyoming. It is a two stage cache where you go to the coordinates downloaded for this cache. Once there, you will find a plaque that explains the historic significance of this place. Determine the year the Fort near here was established and use the last two digits of this year to add to the following coordinates to determine the location of the cache itself (Year established = 18XY). Add .0XY to both of the following coordinates for the location of the cache: N41° 45.039 W106° 56.808 You can walk to the cache from the location of the initial coordinates but with all the fences in between, I would suggest you drive. When you get to the cache, please park off the roadway and walk and watch for any traffic. Please put the cache back exactly as you found it so it will be equally difficult to find for the next geocacher.
I hope this is a fun hide for you and it gets you off the beaten path. This bridge was actually one used years ago when this was Highway 30 (The Lincoln Highway), a two lane, high traffic highway. Imagine crossing this bridge at 60 mph, contending with 2-way traffic (a little intimidating to say the least). Have fun!
