Jumpers Travel Bug Hotel Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

data trax reviewer: Greetings from Geocaching.com

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. I have already placed one reminder on your cache page to remind you that your cache need some attention. There is no record of a response to that reminder. No response tells us that you are not planning on replacing, or repairing this cache. If we are wrong with that assumption please let me know. While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever.

So that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location, your cache has been archived. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please e-mail me in response to this archival and I will unarchive your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to your continued contributions to the sport of Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

This Cache is:

Obviously located in a wooded area.
Located near nasty stuff like Poison Ivy.
A short walk from the road on a gentle slope.
Located easily by finding it's geotrail.(INTENTIONAL)

After loosing my last TB hotel to MUGGLES, I dedicated myself to making it's successor more muggle-proof. I feel that I have succeded. The container is a large plastic box that is fastened to a tree. Inside is a plastic jug for things like the log, trade items and maybe the occasional delicate TB. I also stocked the jug with a couple of pens in case you forgot to bring one, and some decent trade items.

If you take something, replace it with a QUALITY something!
Don't put a trade item in here that you or your kids wouldn't want!
(IE: Pennies - Beads - ANY FOOD ITEMS - stupid junk)

Please, make sure you re-secure the container before leaving, and check to make sure that there isn't any garbage laying around the area. Put the lid on the jug snugly & gently, as the threads can be easily stripped by using too much force.

Parking is available at a couple of locations. First is on the shoulder of COX HOLLOW ROAD near the intersection with Tri-Cities Crossing Road. The second location is a small pulloff across the street from the GeoTrail on Tri-Cities Crossing Road. Note that most mapping programs still refer to this road as being part of KENDRICK CREEK ROAD. Don't let that confuse you!

I took the family out to the location and we timed how long it took to get from the pull-off across the street, up to the cache, take some pictures, and walk back to the car. We did it in 5 minutes, and we took our sweet time.
Attention Travelers!

Please make use of this Travel Bug Hotel as often as you can while traveling through our area! The locals will also be putting TB's in this hotel regularly that need to exit this area, as well as checking the cache for new Bugs that you may have dropped off! So please, if you are driving past exit 56 on Interstate 81, stop and check the cache if you get the chance! You'll have an opportunity to stretch your legs for a few minutes, plus you can probably add a couple of smileys and help someone elses TB get moved all at the same time! Don't forget to log each of your visits and include the time and COMPLETE date of each visit! (One of these days, when I'm showing this log to my grandchildren, I want to tell them what year it was written in! :-)
