The Where ...
THE BEER HOUSE on Angel Street, Manchester, M4 4BR.
This superb pub has a great selection of Real Ales (up to 16 hand pumps) and
many bottled beers from around the world as well as real ciders and some fizzy
stuff.
The landlord (Paul) - who has himself done a cache or two (using a Magellan
SporTrak Pro, ex of this writer) - has made the upstairs function room available
for our sole use.
The When ...
June 16th 2005 from 19.00 or so, until closing.
The Why ...
Pop along to discuss local caching, recount your best war stories, tricks,
traps, great locations, or perhaps those bad locations, mud, thorns, slips,
trips, and near death experiences. Get some ideas and trade some tales
with those from near and afar and maybe even get to do one of those rare animals
- Central Manchester caches !
Other Questions Answered ...
The pub doesn't currently do food on a daily basis, however Paul has agreed
to don the whites again if there is sufficient interest - suggesting his
speciality Waterzooi (Belgian fish or chicken stew with cream) or a West Indian
chilli, and something for the vegetarians. Price TBA but £5 per
head at max. Please
let me know if you would like to eat at the pub (not looking for a legal commitment,
just possible numbers), we can confirm the offerings
and prices. I
can also suggest local restaurants to suit just about any requirement or pocket.
The pub has limited private parking but there is ample on-street parking.
It
is about 10 minutes walk from Manchester Victoria railway station and about
15 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly or the main bus stops.
I will try to check on access for "younger" cachers - as we have a private
room this might not be an issue - though the main bar area would be off-limits
- if this is critical to anyone, please get in touch.
I'm sure I'll have forgotten something, this being my first cache hide and
all, so just ask ...
