The cache location is an stone old farm spring in decent shape. One
of the many ruins from the old farming days of White Clay Creek. Do
not disturb the ruins. The cache is close by but not within 5 feet
of the spring. Even with poor GPS reception due to tree cover it
should not be difficult to find.
There are parking facilities at the end of Wedgewood Road where
it meets Creek Road. (Fees apply here in-season (May 1 to Oct 31)
since its part of White Clay Creek State Park) Creek Road going
north is one way only (going north) and is closed on weekends.
Creek Road is closed going south due to road damage from the
creek.
The cache is only 0.2 miles from parking. You can bushwhack to
this cache from Creek Road, but the suggested route is to use the
trail (from SW corner of Wedgewood Road / Creek road intersection
that heads west which will get you to with-in about 200 feet of the
cache. Chose wisely (DEER STAND #34) and its not too difficult.
Chose incorrectly and watch out for the multi-flora rose
thorns.
Parts of the park are closed one week (except Sundays) in
November, December, and January for deer hunting. This cache should
not be attempted then since it is not that far from a hunting
stand.
