This cache has been archived.

Lovejoy: I have enjoyed everyone's comments and all of the TB traffic through this cache over the years. It is now time to open up this 0.1 mile radius for other caches. Long live the Seattle Storm!

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in honor of the Seattle Storm, 2004 WNBA National Champions!

It was placed just after the Storm unveiled their 2004 WNBA championship banner in Key Arena.

To get the final coordinates for this puzzle cache, you will need to find the jersey numbers for the following Storm stars:

Betty Lennox, WNBA Finals MVP: Add her jersey number to the last three numbers of the posted 'Key West' North coordinates

Sue Bird, WNBA All Star: Also add her jersey number to the last three numbers of the posted 'Key West' North coordinates

Lauren Jackson, WNBA All Star: Subtract her jersey number from the last three numbers of the posted 'Key West' West coordinates

The initial contents included a replica 2004 WNBA Championship ring, a Storm schedule magnet and other basketball odds and ends.

Note: there is no need to leave the concrete to find this cache.

Update March 18,2008: Betty Lennox has moved on to another WNBA team, so now you will need to use the jersey number of another WNBA star now playing for the Storm - Sheryl Swoopes! (Side note: I watched Swoopes lead her school to the NCAA championship in 1993. The school later retired her jersey number - the same one she now wears for the Storm!)

Update March 31, 2009: Jersey numbers from every year in the team's history are posted on the official Storm site.
