This is a multicache that requires some simple problem solving to complete. This is mostly a driving tour, and you will cover 55 miles from beginning to end (mostly on LA Freeways). Also note that some knowledge of Stooge history will be helpful in solving this puzzle…
During your journey, you will be meeting all of the members of the various lineups of The Three Stooges, starting with their vaudeville days, and ending with their full-length feature films. You will visit the final resting places of each cast member by stopping at five different cemeteries in four different parts of Los Angeles County. Please note that Stooges 2-4 cannot be visited on Saturdays. Stooge #1: The coordinates listed at the top of the page will take you to the gravesite of the man responsible for bringing together the original Three Stooges by putting them in his vaudeville act in the 1920’s. What is the name of Stooge #1? Question #1: What is the date of birth on the second tombstone to the left of Stooge #1? Stooge #2: Convert the answer to Question #1 to the following form MM/DD/YYYY. Using AB/CD/EFGH to represent your answer, substitute the appropriate digits in the following to obtain the coordinates of Stooge #2: Coordinates: N 34° 0A.B4F, W 1CD° E0.607 You will now have to drive to the location of Stooge #2. Once you have arrived, you should be at the gravesite of a member of the most well-known trio of Stooges. What is the name of Stooge #2? Question #2: What is the date of death of the person buried to the left of Stooge #2? Stooge #3: Convert the answer to Question #2 to the following form MM/DD/YYYY. The coordinates will take you to an obvious back-entrance to a Mausoleum. Enter the Mausoleum and locate the Eternal Life Corridor; search this corridor for Stooge #3, a man who both preceded and followed Stooge #2. What is the name of Stooge #3? Question #3: What is the year of death of the person entombed directly above Stooge #3? Stooge #4: Using ABCD to represent the answer to Question #3, substitute the appropriate numbers in the following to obtain the coordinates of Stooge #4: Coordinates: N 33° 58.C94, W 118° D3.4BA You will now have to drive to the location of Stooge #4. At the listed coordinates, you should find a man who was in every lineup of the Three Stooges. What is the name of Stooge #4? Stooge #5: Using ABCD to represent the answer to Question #4, substitute the appropriate numbers in the following to obtain the coordinates of Stooge #5: Coordinates: N 34° 0D.336, W 118° A4.CB3 You will now have to drive to the location of Stooge #5.
