THE LAST STAND Traditional Cache
TWST: Well, I am not going to be heading up to Whistler any time soon, so I'm going to archive this listing. The cache was in a great location, but the security of the cache has been compromised and is sure to go missing again. I would encourage anyone who's reading this to take some time to go to the cache location anyway and wander through the trees at the back of the park. It's so peaceful there, and just begs to have you sit and reflect on the way things may have looked here 20 years ago. Wish I was in Whistler......

This park provides a quiet place for contemplation, right in the middle of all the action. Please be aware that this is bear country, so please DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD in the cache. How often have you walked past something but never stopped to take a closer look? This may be one of those places...
Anyone who has visited Whistler Village over the past 20 years, has seen a drastic change in the landscape. Although some people may call those changes progress, still others may view it with a sense of loss.
The thick forest that once covered the base of Blackcomb Mountain is almost gone now, however, a small stand of trees has been preserved in a nearby park.
It is in this "last stand", at the foot of the Chief, that we have chosen to hide our cache.
If you have a little time, after you've logged your visit and rehidden the cache, follow the path across the green space and into the heart of the forest beyond. It is here that you may hear the whisper of the trees that once lived there. The mighty may have fallen, but their spirits live on.
(As a side note - I have replaced the original container with a slightly larger one. It's great to see so many people enjoying this location. Please ensure that you close the lid securely when you're done and please rehide it as you found it. Thx!) Happy Hunting!
