This cache brings us back to 1838 in the midst of the second Seminole War. Fort Gatlin is built on high ground between three lakes. You are a couple of hundred feet east of the fort site overlooking what was called "Deep Lake" at that time. Locate the cache and there are 2 1830's seminole war era musket balls for the FTF. These musket balls were hand cast by soldiers during the second Seminole War.Aproximately 292 feet to the west is a marker if you want to post a picture, also a 1924 D.A.R monument marking the fort.
