Geocache Description:

If you do this right(prefered) then you will enjoy a relaxing Ride/Walk in from outside the park along the old rail line. Or if you are lazy and have a Park pass you can enter via the main entrance.(non-prefered). Its your choice.

Recommended parking spot is Swan Road in Swanview. There is a nearby parking area in Pechey road but we consider it a break in risk. We always try to park near houses as its more secure.
We had organised a cycle ride with a couple of the lads from work so they could test out the joys of riding along gravel tracks on their new mountian bikes.
We hunted out a cache that we had missed the last time we were out this way and after finding that cache we decided to continue to explore further along the disused rail line.
This led us into John Forest park along an easy wide track very suited to mountain bikes. There were lots of alternative tracks that presented themselves but almost all of them lead back to the main rail line that we were following. The track slowly climbs at a rate that isnt hard to keep up with until finaly teminating around the Abandoned rail siding of Hovea. There were 7 palm trees here and they stand out against the Australian bushland in a striking manner.
Its well worth the ride out to see this unusual location. The distance from here to where we parked the car is about 4.5km.
At this point we turned around for the ride back and powered downhill. Its an easy ride as the incline is now to your benefit.
We reached the main park centre and stopped for a look around. It was perfect for a cache. There are BBQ's(free) a stream, Picnic site, a bridge and shade and if you have an "All parks pass" its free to drive in. ( we would prefer you to do it the way we hoped and ride or walk though but we will let you decide on how you do it).Its a 1 star cache if you drive otherwise its a 3 star.
We located a good site up the hill and hid the cache as well as we could under a rock outcrop.
The name, no doubt you are wondering. It took about 5 minutes to come up with and it combines all the best of the options we could think of....plus our first initials.
As encouragemant to do the cache we have added a heap of photos so maybe they will tempt you do take on the adventure and get out the bikes and make a day of it, you will love it.
Contents of the cache are a bit sad as we wernt well prepared to place one but when we get back up there we will add to it.
Best of luck and we hope you have as much fun as we did.
