Geocache Description:

This cache is on the Hidden Valley trail, at a low "pass" not far from where the trail connects with the Moab Rim trail. To get to the trailhead, turn west off Hwy 191 onto Angel Rock Road about three miles south of Moab, and follow the signs a few blocks to the parking area. The trail climbs about 600 ft. in the first mile and then levels out for the remaining 1.5 miles through Hidden Valley to the cache site.

The Hidden Valley trail is open to hikers and mountain bikers, but the first mile is steep, rocky, and sandy and, in our opinion, more fun on foot. On a hot day, this trail is best done in late afternoon or early evening, when much of it is in the shade of the higher cliffs to the west.

The Hidden Valley trail connects with the Moab Rim trail (accessible from Kane Creek Road), which can be done on foot, mountain bike, dirt bike, ATV, or 4WD. If you can arrange a car shuttle, the combination is a beautiful hike of about six miles with three caches (this one, Moonflower, by Daryl&Daryl, and our other cache, Bella's Moab Rim View). If you approach from the Moab Rim side, you can drive to within about half a mile of this cache. Note that the Moab Rim trail is one of the most technically challenging 4WD trails in the area -- don't expect to cruise up the hill in an SUV!

This cache is named for Khybur, who is the best and most enthusiastic cache finder of the three cachin' K9's (Bella is more interested in finding people, and Molly is more interested in finding rabbits, but they have all found quite a few caches). The cache is a medium-sized plastic container with a white lid. Original cache contents include both human and canine toys -- a water bomb, harmonica, Matchbox car, bag clip, deck of mini-cards, magic towel, Ninja Turtles, Easter erasers, tennis ball, rope toy, and clicker.
