The listed coordinates
are not the Cache site |
|
This is the first cache which I have placed. As such it represents
my favorite type.... one in which a puzzle must be solved to find
the actual cache. I usually have a terrible time with puzzles, but
still like this type best. I don't think this particular puzzle is
too difficult -- but then they never are once you know the answer.
As noted above, the listed coordinates are not the actual Cache
location. They are however a legal parking place in a paved parking
lot and you can easily walk to the Cache from there should you
choose to do so.
But First, you must determine the missing number in this
puzzle:
5 |
105 |
191 |
199 |
10 |
305 |
338 |
347 |
15 |
405 |
481 |
599 |
20 |
905 |
975 |

Then Secondly, use your number and, treating each of them
separately, add your number to -- or perhaps subtract it from
-- the last three digits of the listed latitude and longitude
coordinates (neither coordinate will remain the same). Should the
result of that operation exceed three digits, then use only the
last three digits and substitute those three digits for the last
three digits of the listed coordinate. It's up to you to determine
which of the possible locations is the correct one. So go look.
The cache itself is actually regular size and perfectly visible,
although the small container it cradles is not. No tool or strength
is required to get the cache, just a modicum of skill. The
container holds a small log book and a few small trinkets for
trade. If you don't happen to have one with you, a pen is attached
to the cache for signing the log book and leaving a note or
favorite quotation if you like. After you have found it, please
replace the cache as it was. Good luck.
One caveat. If it is a nice day when you determine the
location of the cache, it is probable there will be muggles about.
If that is the case, then even though it will take only seconds to
actually get the cache, it might be good to wait, as there is no
way you will not be clearly visible and at best will probably
appear to be doing something curiously odd when you retrieve the
cache, or at worst, the cache will be compromised.
