Congratulations Southern Nevada NGA members! We are
officially the proud parents of an Adopt-A-Highway section up in the Red Rock area! The 2-mile stretch of highway on SR 159 between mile marker 10 and 12 on the westbound side has been adopted!! Come hang out with your fellow geocachers for our first 2005 Cache-In-Trash-Out event and help clean up our
beautiful desert!
Let's all meet up at the parking area (across from the
horse stables) near mile marker 10 (N36 07.282 W115
26.046) on June 11, 2005 at 7:30am. Get the work out of the way before it gets too hot! Once everyone is there we can go over the safety rules and get to picking up that pesky trash!! We're proud and want our section to shine!! Should be a terrific
time and a lot of fun!
After us litter-picker-uppers are tuckered out,
we can head up to the Willow Springs picnic area to get energized and fueled up with some grub…POT LUCK style!!!
Unfortunately, cachers under the age of 18 are NOT allowed to participate with the actual picking up of litter due to NDOT safety regulations. They can however hang out off the highway and join everyone for the after party! Same goes for those cachers that aren't able to walk portions of the highway stretch …come and hang anyway and be merry!! All cachers are welcome!
What to bring:
- Long Pants
- Gloves
- Sunscreen
- Water
- Pot Luck Dish
- And of course...SMILES!!
Since our group is full of helpers…here's what we need:
- A couple portable/folding tables
- Coolers with cold beverages
- Portable sun shelters/gazebos
As always, bring your travel bugs and make a clean swap!! I'll be issuing a couple new bugs as well.
I hope everyone can make it!
