What's the Point? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cellardoor: After last two cachers could not find we went to check it out. The spot is still there but the container is gone. Given the high muggle activity and potential poison ivy issues, we decided to archive. It's still a great spot to visit and we hate to give up the lakefront location and evening sunset caches, but the potential hiding spots for regular caches are few. Roxie Retriever still intends to visit the area for swimming!

Geocache Description:

On undeveloped state land on Cayuga Lake. Not in the park, so don't pay admission!

The cache is an 8oz nalgene bottle. Original contents were 2 mini sharpies, a pawprint keychain, post it notes, a cat toy, and a photon mini flashlight for the FTF. The theme is green.

The area is a good place for windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing. Roxie Retriever says its good for swimming. There may be lots of muggles around but there are plenty of ways to approach the cache so you won't be seen. UPDATE 25 Jul 07: The state has put in a gravel road and closed all the previous ones. Now you will need to park a little further, and walk through some unimproved and overgrown areas. So I have raised the terrain a half point. Plus the signs now say dogs on leash. Roxie Retriever says, "I'm not swimming on a leash!" Update 21 April 09: Cache is still in same spot, new gravel road comes within about 10 ft of the location, so disregard last update about farther walk.
