Geocache Description:

Since our last name is Cowles, we had to hide one in Cowles, NM, Right?

This is a cache in a green ammo can hidden in some rocks (see picture of hiding place). There is a short hike from the campground. There is a trail to the cache, but of course it is hidden a bit off the trail. The campground can be found at N35 48.755 W105 39.830. There is a huge field with many camp spots, and camping spots with shelters. There is a river running next to it. The Cowles Ponds are nearby for some pond fishing. It is beautiful up there. The trail begins at N35 48.723 W105 39.710. Follow the trial until it looks like it ends. If you continue in that direction, the trail continues, but is less evident. Follow it until your GPS points you up the hill to your right. The hill at this point is steep, so thats why there is a high terrain rating. Other than that the raiting would only be about a 2. My 3 year old made it with my help. There's something in the cache for everyone. The cache is hidden in the rocks (see picture). You will have to move a couple of rocks out from in front of it. Please put them back exactly as you found them, they fit together perfectly. Had a hard time getting the GPS to settle in on 17' accuracy, so that's why there is such great description on how to find it. Enjoy!
