Instead of hiking the trail, you need to head uphill for this cache from the picnic/day use area. Two others can be found along the trail. Cache is an ammo can with a blue ribbon for FTF in addition to any other trade items they wish to take. Cache also contains the normal trade items. This may be a hot, dry summer hike and at any time of the year please be aware of the poison oak.
