Preston Mill Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Lightning Jeff: Sure enough, the big box has been stolen. I pulled both waypoints (which were still in place), and a new cache should be available soon. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

This is a three-step multi through the grounds of the Preston Mill (now an undeveloped King County Park).

The Preston Shingle Mill began operations in the 1890s, and continued through a series of fires and floods, until it finally ceased operations in 1992. King County purchased the site in 1997. This multi will take you through a few areas of the Mill property, which totals over 20 acres. For further information about the history of the mill, see this article.

Waypoints 1 and 2 are small capsules. Each could cause some degree of frustration, either because of the lack of reliable signal or because the hides are a bit tricky. For this reason, I have provided hints as well as explicit spoilers.

The final is a large container, so bring the big swag! Because of poor signal at the final location, the final is an "offset" - you'll need to go about 20 feet north from the final coordinates. You only need to open one end of the container.

Original contents include a good sized toy truck, some tie-downs, and other miscellaneous swag. Also, Lightning Jeff/Walkabout Meli geocoin #009 for the first-to-find. Enjoy!
